How to Report Ads - GhasaMarket

GhasaMarket Classified Ads is a community site. We rely on your feedback to keep the site friendly and safe. We like to think of it as you, the GhasaMarket community, “policing” the site and keeping out the bad guys. On each ad there is a button called "Report ad" where you can bring an ad to our attention.

Be vigilant! Never send money before confirming the seller and product.
Verify first! Meet in safe places and check items before making payment.
Protect yourself! Do not share personal or banking details with strangers.
Think before you pay! Scammers often rush you—take your time.
Stay alert! Avoid deals that seem too good to be true on GhasaMarket.

When you report an ad, you will be asked to choose your reason for reporting it. Below are the reporting options available on GhasaMarket Classified Ads and when to use each one.

Possible fraud

Use this option if you think the ad is illegal or you believe the advertiser may be a scammer, or if the ad is inappropriate and does not comply with our Posting Policies or GhasaMarket Terms of Use.

Duplicate / Spam

Use this option if the same ad has been posted more than once a day in the same category.

No longer current

Use this option if you think the poster has already sold the item and is no longer responding to messages.

Here are a few tips on how to choose your meeting point with a buyer/seller:

1. Choose a location where you feel safe - do not feel pressured to meet at a location you are not comfortable with 2. Suggest a meeting place in an area that you are familiar with 3. Take someone with you that you trust to the meeting point with the buyer/seller

Choosing a Safe Place to Trade

Buyer - You've identified an item you are interested in. You contact the seller and ask questions about the item. You negotiate the price, now you need to meet. How do you decide on where to meet? Seller - You've been contacted by an interested buyer. You agree on a price, now you need to meet up. How do you decide on where to meet up?

What Do I Do if I Have Been Scammed?

If you are the victim of fraud, please inform GhasaMarket by contacting our helpdesk and send through all information you have about the ad (ideally the ad number) and the email address of the advertiser so we can take it down immediately.

What Are the Scams I Should Watch Out For?

There are some dodgy people out there, and despite our efforts to keep them from GhasaMarket and protect you, occasionally a bogus ad or buyer slips through. Read here for some common scams on the net to watch out for.

Inappropriate content

Use this option if you come across any ads that display inappropriate content, for example images with nudity, inappropriate language, prostitution, or ads offering sexual services or favors.

Important safety reminder: Always confirm the seller, the product, and the meeting place before making any payment. Be careful of scam ads, fake proof of payment, and requests for deposits before viewing the item.

Step 4: Submit the report so our team can review it.

After an ad is reported to us, we review it as quickly as possible and decide whether it should be removed. Your help and feedback are extremely valuable to us. It helps shape GhasaMarket Classified Ads and keeps the content on the site clean, up-to-date, and relevant for everyone.
